There are some who appear to achieve anything and everything they want. How can you be that person? How can you achieve anything?
The answer is simple.
Begin with a question. What is it you want? You must define the goal before you begin to chase it.
Be clear and specific. Describe in detail what you are after.
· Who is involved in helping you achieve this goal?
· What must you do to accomplish it?
· Where will it happen?
· Why are you pursuing it?
· What obstacles do you foresee or requirements/certifications will you need to have?
If you are vague in the beginning you will derail along the way. Write out or create visuals that will remind you when obstacles appear what it is you are striving for.
To achieve anything, you must first cast the vision. Cast the vision for yourself and for anyone else you are bringing along with you. Without a clearly defined goal you won’t know where you are headed.
Create a goal that is measurable and action-oriented. Ask how you will get there, what steps you will need to take along the way, and how you will measure your momentum. Will you be able to measure it in dollars, experiences, time?
Be realistic in your expectations of yourself but above all else –
Do you have a winning mindset or are you stuck? Do you find yourself making excuses for obstacles instead of evaluating how to overcome them? Do you complain more than you act?
If you do not believe at the beginning that you will succeed then you have already failed.
There will be plenty of people along the way who will tell you, you can’t. Don’t allow yourself to be one of those people. Those people are wrong.
“The best revenge is massive success.” – Frank Sinatra
Get out of your head! Turn off the negative voices and start believing in yourself.
If there are flaws, access them, correct them, and become a more valuable asset to your own success.
Today is the day to change. Learn to work harder on yourself than on anything else.
Spend time in self-reflection and discovery. Ask yourself: what it is about your philosophy, your attitude, and your activities that are hindering you from achieving your goals? Then set out to make hard, actionable, time-bound changes. Set deadlines and stick to them. Find accountability partners who will hold you to them.
Be realistic in your own self-growth but never, ever give up. Keep pursuing a better version of you.
Take a moment at the end of every day to access what you have accomplished and what you can improve on tomorrow toward your goal. Do the same at the end of the week, the end of the month, and the end of the year. Measure how far you have come.
Be willing to take a good hard look and make the necessary corrections in yourself. Don’t ignore the flaws, refine and change who you are to achieve the goal.
Read books. Take classes. Find a mentor. Surround yourself with those who are pursuing similar goals.
Decide now who you want to be and what you want to accomplish. Resolve that no matter what obstacles come up you will never, ever give up. You have to want it bad enough, decide to go for it, focus on your goal, and persevere. Desire will take you far. Determination even further.
At the end of the day, only you can change you. No one else can achieve your dreams. No one else can bring you to them. Only you can make the necessary changes to accomplish your goals and live the best life imaginable.
Let me ask you one question. What is it you want?
