On your journey toward success, you must become a lifelong learner. Putting in intentional study time toward your goals will significantly increase your focus and determination.
Begin your day with studying. Soak in cutting-edge business material, wealth-building tips, and marketing information. The world is ever-changing, and in order to get the most out of everything you do, you have to expand the way you think. What better way to do that than to become a committed lifelong learner?
Before you can begin to provide quality output, you have to first invest in the input. This means you have to fill your mind and hone your skills before you are able to give your best to the world.
To become a lifelong learner, you have to be self-motivated. You have to believe in yourself and your ability to learn. If you are not self-motivated, then this is where the power of self-talk comes in. Don’t allow your thoughts to wander to the negative, but tell yourself over and over that this is who you are and who you want to be.
Be intentional in your studies. Set aside a time every day – preferably before you start the rest of the day – when you can dedicate 30 minutes to learning. Read books relevant to your goals and ask: “How does this apply to my life? How can I use this concept in my own business?”
Make a habit of taking notes. You won’t remember everything you read, so write down what stands out and how you want to utilize it in the day ahead. Then share with someone else what you read or what you gathered from your study time. Run it by a colleague or a mentor in the same field. Figure out how what you are studying in the mornings plays into your goals for 2018. Then implement them and attack your day.
Here’s the thing: If you don’t stay sharp you won’t be sharp. Be organized in your intentions, in your studying, and in the pursuit of your dreams. Fill your mind with possibilities. Open your mind to the advice of experts who have gone before you and have graciously written down their stories.
Books are glimpses into the journeys others have taken. They are opportunities to learn from the mistakes and triumphs of others. They provide insight into how to look at an obstacle in a new way. Begin to make a habit of spending time every morning investing in your future by listening and weighing carefully the lessons learned by those who have gone before you.
